Privacy Policy

The short version

Type Specimen reads font files to display previews. That's it.

• No data collection
• No analytics
• No network requests
• No font files are uploaded anywhere

The app runs entirely on your Mac. Your fonts stay on your Mac.

What the app accesses

When you preview a font file using Quick Look, Type Specimen reads that file from your local filesystem to extract and display:

• Font glyphs (the actual characters)
• Variable font axes (if present)
• Color tables (if present)
• Metadata (name, designer, license, etc.)

This information is displayed in the Quick Look panel and is not stored, logged, or transmitted anywhere.

Network activity

Type Specimen makes no network requests. It does not check for updates, send crash reports, ping analytics servers, or communicate with any remote services. The app functions identically whether your Mac is online or offline.

Third-party services

The app does not integrate with any third-party services, SDKs, or analytics frameworks.

This website has no signup forms, no analytics, and no cookies. It does not collect any personal data.
